Welcome to Yuzaki Lab
Yuzaki Lab's (Department of Neurophysiology, Keio University School of Medicine) research theme is to elucidate "how neural activity and environmental changes induce memory and learning,、, 、and how they change the neural network itself ."。For details please Click here.

Panel Discussion at BSI

Prof. Yuzaki was invited to the panel discussion held at RIKEN BSI to talk about the theme: "High Impact Science vs. High Impact Journals". . Yuzusaki in a panel discussion on the theme at RIKEN BSI called High Impact Journals took part。When I thought at ease because it was referred to the person of the meeting of postdoctoral、That the rest of the panelists Susumu Tonegawa Sensei and Shun-ichi Amari teacher、I was very surprised。

Delta type 1 glutamate receptor is expressed in a particular synapse of cerebellum and forebrain

Delta type 1 glutamate receptor (GluD1) is、Delta receptor type 2 with (GluD2)、Not know function while belong to the glutamate receptor family、It has been treated as an orphan receptor。The GluD1 protein has been considered also a little present in the mature brain。However、Abnormalities GluD1 gene in human mental disorders are reported one after another in recent years、It can be seen that the phenotype, such as aggression increased and social deterioration even in GluD1 gene-deficient mice can be seen、Function of GluD1 has been attracting attention。On this occasion、By developing GluD1 specific antibody、Specifically GluD1 was the first time that the expression evident in various brain regions such as the brain, the limbic system, striatum, cerebellum also in the mature brain。In particular by GluD1 genetic defects in the cerebellum、Synapses between parallel fibers (granule cell axons) intervening neurons were found to decrease significantly。
These results have been published in theJournal of NeurosciencePublished in、It has been featured in "This Week in The Journal." It was featured in。It is the result of joint research with Niigata cerebral Research, Sakimura Institute with a focus on Hokkaido University School of Medicine Ken Watanabe。
